ABOUT THIS 3D FIGURINE

William Birkin is a virologist responsible for the creation of the G-virus, which served as a catalyst for the tragedy that occurred in Raccoon City. Birkin began work at the research centre of the "Umbrella" corporation under the leadership of the first general director James Marcus in 1977 when he was only sixteen. There he also met his future close friend and rival Albert Wesker. They both took part in the creation of the T-virus until the research centre was closed. William completed the G-virus study in September 1998 and planned to use it as a ticket to the board of directors of the corporation. However, having argued with his superiors, Birkin changed his plans and decided to keep the virus in order to sell it later to the US government. He even demanded the intervention of the military in order to get him out of the laboratory. The detachment did not come after him, but the group "Alpha" of the security service "Umbrella" received orders to seize Birkin’s activity. During the skirmish, one of the soldiers lost his nerve and he wounded Birkin with a burst of the machine gun. Trying to survive, Birkin infected himself with a G-virus, survived but immediately transformed into a terrible monster. After the transformation in G mutant, Birkin went for the "Alpha" whose weapons were useless against the "new" Birkin and the whole team was killed in the sewerage of Raccoon City. During this massacre, Birkin crushed several tubes with T-virus. Local rats spread it around the city, causing the tragedy that swept the Raccoon City.

The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from William Birkin Monster's actual height that is 2320 mm. The 3D printing figurine's chosen scale is 1/7 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/14 for the DLP/SLA/SLS version.

Below you can find printing recommendations for CuraSimplify3D and Slic3r software.

Cura printing recommendations:

These are basic settings that were tested in Cura 4.8.0 slicer.

The test models were printed on Ultimaker 2, Creality Ender 3, Creality CR-10S Pro V2, Anycubic I3 Mega, Anycubic I3 MegaS 3D printers with PLA and PETG filaments.

Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use and especially the particular assembly part at hand. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

Note:
- You can scale up the model (downscaling is not recommended!);
- All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill;
- For all parts of locks (“ge_lock” in “Source files”) you need to change "Brim" type to "Skirt" in Build Plate Adhesion section.
