ABOUT THESE 3D MINIATURES

Small, mischievous and resourceful creatures Goblins are known to have their origins in European folklore and still can be encountered in various fictional universes. Fantasy movies or adventurous video and board games teem with all kinds of monstrous representatives who are usually up to no good. Goblins may be weaker and smaller than their foes but they make up for this lack of strength by pretty surprising inventive skills. The author of the Greenskins Catapult model for 3D printing is also convinced that although Goblins may not be the brightest engineers, the tiny creatures are capable of manufacturing impressive war machines, just like this Catapult for 3D printing. Therefore, being inspired by medieval fiction, the 3D artist spent 78 hours in total to create an amusing rock launching scene for 3D printing that would be an excellent addition to any fantasy scenario! We’ve got four Goblin miniatures, each engaged in a particular activity. One is depicted to be in charge of operating the Catapult, the other is about to load a heavy rock into the launcher’s bucket. The 3D printing scene also seems to feature the pair of battle supervisors - one monster is portrayed as if about to lash the lagging teammate, the fourth one is on the look-out. Due to the fact that three of the Goblins have their own little platforms, you are free to arrange the characters of the scene just the way that your scenario needs them to be. Don’t hesitate to add the real Goblin-made catapult to your tabletop game - the STL files are ready for download.

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Greenskins Catapult for 3D printing is a set of static miniatures of goblins and an assembly RocksLauncher that when printed form a versatile scene for your fantasy board game. The one-piece creatures, as well as their assembly catapult, were intended by the author as the miniatures that are meant to be printed on DLP/SLA or SLS 3D printers in order to preserve the quality of the design. The unit’s moderation process took Gambody team 27 hours in total and during the review, the creatures’ proportions were checked, the needed improvements were introduced and it was made sure that all the miniatures’ fine details are printable. The cutting of the Catapult model was chosen for you to achieve the cleanest result possible. Therefore, such smaller parts as launcher’s beam, frame, counterweight, ropes, wheels, flags etc. are provided as separate files. All the catapult’s assembly parts come in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate.

The miniatures are saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The miniatures' scale was calculated from Greenskins' height that is approximately 500 mm. The 3D printing miniatures are available in 1/16 scale for the DLP/SLA/SLS version.
