ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

The Lambda-class T-4a shuttle, also simply known as the Imperial Shuttle, was a multi-purpose vessel of the Imperial fleet. Elegant and deadly, Imperial Lambdas were often used as a transportation means for Stormtroopers and cargo, although even Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader sometimes travelled in their own private units. Unlike similar ships from the Imperial fleet, shuttles of the Lambda-class are equipped with a hyperdrive which makes them so popular with high-ranking officers and Star Wars fans all around the world.

The 3D printing model of Imperial Shuttle by our contributing 3D artist perfectly conveys the elegance and swiftness of the versatile vehicle. The model features the craft’s trademark three wings: a stationary dorsal stabiliser and two articulated flanking side wings. The 3D printing Lambda-class shuttle is heavily armed with a pair of forward-facing double blaster cannons, two wing-mounted poseable cannons, and a powerful aft laser cannon. Recreate the exciting scenes from the classic Star Wars trilogy by adding the 3D printed Imperial Shuttle to your fleet!

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Imperial Shuttle for 3D printing is an active assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 48 hours in total.

For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible and to minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support the spacecraft model was divided into many assembly parts, and special mechanisms were introduced into all model’s movable elements to give you an opportunity to display Imperial Shuttle in a variety of positions and scenes.

All assembly parts in FFF/FDM version are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA/SLS 1.0 versions in PDF format. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly video” and "Assembly Manual" before getting down to the Imperial Shuttle model.

The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from the actual length of the Imperial Shuttle which is 20000 mm. The 3D printing model's chosen scale is 1:34 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:68 for the DLP/SLA/SLS version.

Below you can find printing recommendations for CuraSimplify3D and Slic3r software.

Cura printing recommendations:

These are basic settings that were tested in Cura 4.8.0 slicer.

The test models were printed on Ultimaker 2, Creality Ender 3, Creality CR-10S Pro V2, Anycubic I3 Mega, Anycubic I3 MegaS 3D printers with PLA and PETG filaments.

Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use and especially the particular assembly part at hand. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

Note:
- You can scale up the model (downscaling is not recommended!);
- All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill;
- For all parts of locks (“ge_lock” in “Source files”) you need to change "Brim" type to "Skirt" in Build Plate Adhesion section.
