ABOUT THIS 3D FIGURINE

Din Djarin, also known as “The Mandalorian” or “Mando” for short, is the reputed bounty hunter and the titular character of the well-loved TV series within the Star Wars franchise. The Mandalorian travels across the galaxy on his Razor Crest starship accompanying (and protecting) the Force-sensitive Child. The author of the incredible The Mandalorian 3D printing figurine spent almost 200 hours while working on the stunning bounty hunter project. And the hard work clearly yielded the astonishing result - the lone gunfighter for 3D printing is exceptionally detailed, mysterious and so very cool! The pose that the 3D artist decided to go for resembles the one seen in various posters of the first season of The Mandalorian series. The protagonist of the space Western is captured midstep and there is absolutely no doubt that Din Djarin is extremely confident, super professional, and armed to the teeth. The author of the figurine made sure to properly depict the warrior’s set of Mandalorian armour, starting from the distinctive Beskar helmet with a T-shaped visor that fully conceals the hunter’s face. The design of the body armour also pays tribute to the traditional armour of the human warrior clans and includes shoulder pauldrons, vambraces, a breastplate, a codpiece, thigh, knee and shin guards. The mighty bounty hunter for 3D printing wields a blaster pistol and can be displayed carrying either the trademark Amban sniper rifle or the jetpack on his back. The careful attention to the model’s finest details makes the 3D printing project thousand times more appealing and realistic - just take a closer look at the clan Mudhorn signet on the figurine’s right shoulder, or at all kinds of pockets, bullets, cartridges, etc. adorning the bandolier or the boots of the character. Last but definitely not least feature that barely needs an introduction - the cutest Baby Yoda miniature nestled inside The Mandalorian’s bag! The Din Djarin 3D printing figurine is destined to hit the wishlists of SW fans, especially coupled with his Speeder Bike that comes as the second part of the diorama!

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

The Mandalorian figurine for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 58 hours in total. Figurine’s anatomy was thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the bounty hunter to be depicted harmoniously in the intended pose. The model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the model’s Eco version. In order to conceal the places where the assembly parts of the model must be connected, the figurine was cut along the contour of the character’s Mandalorian armor seams and both variants of the model’s cape were taken off the figurine. For you to achieve the cleanest result possible, many smaller parts such as The Mandalorian’s shoulder pauldrons, the beskar helmet, the Amban Sniper Rifle, the blaster pistol, the jetpack, various pockets, bandolier elements, cartridges, the Baby Yoda miniature, etc. are provided as separate files. In addition to that, the model’s cutting allows the interchangeability between The Mandalorian’s variants - the figurine can be displayed either wearing the jetpack on its back or wearing the Amban Sniper Rifle while carrying the Baby Yoda miniature inside the bag. The figurine can be assembled into a diorama with The Mandalorian’s Speeder Bike that has a special platform to house both models. All the assembly parts come in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and to make sure that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any figurine's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA 1.0 versions in PDF format.

The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Din Djarin's actual height that is 1800 mm. The 3D printing figurine's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.

Below you can find printing recommendations for CuraSimplify3D and Slic3r software.

Cura printing recommendations:

These are basic settings that were tested in Cura 4.8.0 slicer.

The test models were printed on Ultimaker 2, Creality Ender 3, Creality CR-10S Pro V2, Anycubic I3 Mega, Anycubic I3 MegaS 3D printers with PLA and PETG filaments.

Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use and especially the particular assembly part at hand. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

Note:
- You can scale up the model (downscaling is not recommended!);
- All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill;
- For all parts of locks (“ge_lock” in “Source files”) you need to change "Brim" type to "Skirt" in Build Plate Adhesion section.
