Bring your 3D model to life<\/em><\/p>\n

London, 27 July 2016<\/strong> \u2013 Gambody has recently launched the online workshop on printed and\u00a0painted 3D models<\/strong> on its official YouTube <\/a>channel.<\/p>\n

The first miniature that got to undergo a complete dress-up is Kratos 3D model.<\/p>\n

Kratos video game miniature STL file<\/strong> was released on our marketplace back in March, this year.<\/p>\n

As a video game-inspired 3D printing files seller, Gambody<\/strong> is always looking for impressive ways to show its audience that the digital files are free of any errors and completely printable on any type of 3D printer.<\/p>\n

This is how Printed and Painted Kratos 3D model project started.<\/p>\n

We printed Kratos in PLA material on our in-house 3D printer. The model printed clean, without any surface errors or defects.<\/p>\n

\nHaving a clean 3D printed model is good, but having it painted and looking like being taken from the video game and brought into the physical world \u2013 is amazing.<\/p>\n

Kratos 3D miniature is painted in the colors of his video game prototype. The tools used to paint the model are common painting utensils that every person who has ever painted a picture knows about.<\/p>\n

The biggest decision is related to the type and brand of paints. Although not an acute decision, this is something that plays a significant role for many.<\/p>\n

Kratos 3D gaming miniature is painted in simple acrylic paints \u2013 no fancy brand of paints has been used. We also used white primer to give 4 nice white coats to the model. The white primer has the property to make paint adhere to the model, avoiding any leakage from the otherwise plastic 3D model.<\/p>\n

\"Printing<\/a><\/p>\n

Painted Kratos 3D model<\/strong>\u00a0is polished using simple painting techniques<\/a> \u2013 that of mixing and matching colors.<\/p>\n

3D model\u2019s special features, such as the face and torso scars are also reproduced with painting.<\/p>\n

Attention to details is what makes painting a video game-like 3D model unique.<\/p>\n

\nEven the blood trace on the video game figurine\u2019s Blades of Chaos was rendered with paint.<\/p>\n

\nFor metal and bronze effects, special color combinations and color paints were applied.<\/p>\n
