This is a from-scratch recreation of the AR from District 9.
The photos show both a print and the finished model (which I sanded, painted).
What is supplied is purely the STLs. You have to print, finish and paint this model yourself.
The STLs are high resolution, originally targeted for printing on a Prusa MK4s
I can re-slice the model (gun body is the only thing that needs possible adjustment) if you have <185mm print height.
Summary of features:
- Highly accurate
- Built with cosplay in mind (durability). The rifle body itself is re-enforced with 16mm steel tubes (commonly found at a hardware store, you have to source those yourself).
- Each of the 24 cylinders has support for a 6mmx70mm steel rod. Again for strength. You can hand the gun to someone, or lean it on things, or it can fall over and the chance of those cylinders snapping off is close to zero.
Supplied STLs:
- Main body of gun (in 6 parts, suitable for 185mm max high print area).
- Charge handles
- Top and Bottom cylinders/catridges + Bottom cylinder attachments
- Elextronics (Greeblies)
- Front barrels
- Front top cylinder (2 parts)
- Sight parts
- Sling attachment
- Top small left/right cylinders (2 parts, you print a total of 24 of these)
- *wall brackets!*
For assembly, you will require:
- ~1m of 6mm steel rod. Cut into 70mm sections. One length needs to be less at assembly time (left hand frontmost cylinder), as the insert hole is shortened so that we don't penetrate into the topmost front barrel.
- ~1m of 16mm hollow (but choose anything similar) metal tube. This fits VERY snuggly into the gun body parts. You will likely have to sand them a little but to get a smooth fit, as clearance is only 0.1mm.
- Suitable epoxy to glue all the bits together

To avoid printing issues and achieve the best quality, we highly recommend applying the following settings:
Prusa Slicer
3 perimeters, 0.3mm layer height is what I normally use.
