This is the legendary fight between Hercules and Lernaean Hydra.
Legend has it that Hercules headed to hunt the nine-headed hydra. The quest proved to be not an easy one. After having lured the creature from its hiding place, Hercules set off to kill it. But every time he would cop one of its head another two would emerge, making Hercules’ mission tricky and almost impossible.
Getting one of his feet wound, the hydra made Hercules’ escape impossible. Seeing that his task is getting out of hands, he called on Iolaus to help him out of the situation.
The Hercules vs Hydra 3D model consists of 11 separate parts, all converted into STL files. The STL files underwent thorough checking and correction in Netfabb. They can be easily handled in any slicing program.
The text on the base is ancient Greek and it says "Hercules and Lernaean Hydra”. This is a kit and will require assembly and painting. Hercules is around 18.5cm which makes him 1/10 scale. The parts have been prepared for printing bed 14cm ×14cm ×17cm or bigger.

This model was tested in Cura 15.06. To avoid printing problems, we recommend the following settings:
- Layer height: 0.1mm*
- Initial layer thickness: 0.3mm
- Bottom/top pattern: lines
- Skin perimeter line count: 0
- Horizontal expansion: 0.04mm (when entering 0.04mm index, the 3D printer perceives the model as monolith, i.e. as having no hidden layers).
*Layer Height 0.1mm is recommended for a better quality for the printed model. However, the printing time will double.
As a STL file provider, our goal is to ensure that the files are error-free and printable in the most accurate way. This is why we only test print the most difficult segments of the model’s parts.
The model's parts have been tested and printed in PLA. In case you need advice where to get your filaments from, check our partner's website.
