Decorative steampunk eagle wall hook — highly detailed bird-of-prey head with mechanical goggle, riveted straps and curved hook. Designed for 3D printing and finishing with metallic paint or real metal look. Ideal for hallways, bathrooms, or themed interiors.
Features
- One watertight, manifold mesh (single connected object)
- High level of sculpted feather and mechanical detail (rivets, flexible tubing, monocle)
- Designed as a functional wall hook — mounting plate integrated into the backplate (holes are shown in renders; add/adjust mounting holes in slicer if required)
- No embedded color or textures (STL). Use PBR materials or paint for metallic finishes.
Example technical metadata (PLEASE replace example numbers with your export values)
- Format: Binary STL
- Units: millimeters
- Bounding box (W × D × H): 150 × 120 × 260 mm (example — scale to your needs)
- Triangle count: ~95,000 triangles (high detail)
- File size: ~18–35 MB (binary, depending on export/decimation)
- Watertight: Yes
- Manifold: Yes
Export checklist (Blender/ZBrush/3ds Max)
- Finalize scale → convert to millimeters.
- Apply transforms (
Ctrl-Ain Blender). - Check normals → ensure all normals face outward.
- Run mesh analysis: close holes, remove non-manifold edges and stray vertices.
- Optional: decimate if needed — preserve fine feather detail (target ≥ 50k tris).
- Export as Binary STL. Name file with
_mm_binarysuffix.
3D printing recommendations
Best printer
- Resin (SLA/DLP/LCD) — recommended to preserve intricate feather and rivet detail.
- Layer height: 25–50 µm
- Supports: tree supports on recessed/backside areas; minimal touch points on detailed surfaces
- If large, hollow with 2–3 mm shell and add 3–5 mm drain holes (place on underside/backplate)
- FDM (FFF) — possible; expect loss of micro detail. Use for stylized/rough prints.
- Nozzle: 0.25–0.4 mm (smaller nozzle preserves detail)
- Layer height: 0.10–0.15 mm
- Shells/perimeters: 3
- Infill: 15–25% (higher for heavy loads)
- Use brim/raft for adhesion.
