See the Description and Specifications sections for more details about this model.
High-detail steampunk dolphin head that transitions into a functional wall hook. The sculpture includes riveted armour plates, mechanical tubing and a monocle-like eye piece. The mesh is prepared as a single watertight object suitable for printing and finishing to metallic looks (gold / bronze / silver / verdigris patina).
Features
- Watertight (closed) mesh suitable for printing
- Manifold geometry, single connected component (one solid piece)
- Fine surface detail preserved (scales / rivets / tubing) — best with high-resolution printing
- Mounting plate/back face prepared to sit flat against wall with screw holes (or add your own)
- Hook curvature sized for small items (glasses, keys, light jackets) — check scale before print
Example technical metadata (replace with your exact export values)
- Format: Binary STL
- Units: mm
- Bounding box (W × D × H): (example) 95 × 85 × 210 mm (change to match export)
- Triangle count: ~70k–140k (high detail)
- File size: ~10–40 MB (binary)
- Watertight: Yes
- Manifold: Yes
Print recommendations
Best printer
- SLA/LCD/DLP (resin) — recommended for highest fidelity of the small mechanical details and smooth surfaces.
- Layer height: 25–50 µm
- Orientation: tilt ~10–20° to minimize supports on the front of the head and show detail; place back (flat) toward build plate or use minimal tree supports.
- Supports: tree supports under the hook tip, under chin and small overhangs — minimize contact points on highly detailed surfaces.
- Hollowing: optional — if hollowing, use 2–3 mm shell and add at least one drain/vent hole (3–5 mm) on the back or bottom.
- FDM (filament) — workable but expect loss of tiny detail; use fine nozzle.
- Nozzle: 0.25–0.4 mm
- Layer height: 0.10–0.15 mm
- Walls/perimeters: 3–4 perimeters
- Infill: 15–25% for stability (can be higher if load of hook expected)
- Orientation: mount the flat back plate to the bed if possible (use a raft/adhesion) or print on side to preserve head detail.
- Supports: essential under the hook curve and under chin — use support blockers on face to reduce scarring.
