See the Description and Specifications sections for more details about this model.
High-detail 3D model of a Sphynx-cat head in steampunk style that transitions into a sturdy wall hook. The sculpt features intricate facial wrinkle detail, riveted metal straps, a monocle detail over one eye, and a curved hook for hanging. Intended as a decorative wall hook or display piece — geometry only (STL), with recommended metal-look finishing (gold / bronze / silver with verdigris patina) for final appearance.
What’s included
- Single watertight STL file containing the full solid model (head + collar + hook) ready for printing.
- Model exported as a single shell with outward-facing normals and no non-manifold edges.
- Designed so the hook is integral to the sculpture (no assembled parts required).
Intended presentation (note for color/finish)
STL files do not store color. The model is intended to be finished with metallic paints and patina to recreate a mixed-metal look (gold, bronze, brass, silver) with green/blue verdigris accents and light brushing to reveal highlights. Example finish: antique bronze base → dry-brushed brass highlights → silver accents → verdigris pigment wash in creases. The sample images show the model against a light blue background for presentation only.
Recommended print settings (FDM / filament)
These are guidelines — adjust to your printer and material.
- Printer type: FDM (or SLA resin for ultra-fine detail)
- Material: PETG or PLA+ for general printing; ASA or PETG for more durability; use resin (SLA) for highest surface fidelity.
- Nozzle: 0.4 mm recommended
- Layer height: 0.12–0.2 mm (0.1–0.12 mm for finer detail)
- Wall / perimeter: 3–5 perimeters (2.0–2.5 mm total wall thickness recommended)
- Top / bottom layers: 6–8
- Infill: 20–40% (for strength in the hook area use 30–40% or use a denser infill locally)
- Print orientation: Model upright (head up, hook down) is natural for display but may require supports under the chin and between hook and body. For stronger hook, orient hook horizontally so layers run along the hook curve (see “Strength tips”).
- Supports: Required under monocle overhangs, under chin, and supporting the inner curve of the hook depending on orientation. Use tree supports where possible to ease cleanup.
- Build plate adhesion: Brim recommended for larger prints; raft optional for warped materials.
Recommended print settings (SLA / resin)
- Layer height: 25–50 μm for fine wrinkles and rivet detail
- Orientation: Slightly tilted to reduce supports on the most detailed faces; supports on back of head and rear of collar
- Supports: Light-touch supports on non-visible rear surfaces; remove carefully to avoid marring rivet detail.
- Post-wash & cure per resin manufacturer.
