ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL
Marauder is another bipedal Mech from the BattleTech Universe. The Marauder design has somehow detached from the traditional Mechs’ humanoid look and resembles a robot vehicle. The Mech was built to be used in attacks and as a fire support BattleMech.
Marauder model for 3D printing is a posable mech, with workable legs and hands. The Mech’s torso is also articulated, rotating 360°.
ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING
MWO Marauder for 3D printing is an active assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 30 hours in total.
For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible and to minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support, the Marauder model was divided into many assembly parts.
All assembly parts in the FFF/FDM versions are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly video” before getting down to the MWO Marauder model.
The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.The 3D printing model’s chosen scales are 1:60 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:100 for the DLP/SLA version.
VERSIONS' SPECIFICATIONS
FFF/FDM 2.2 version features:
- Contains 59 parts;
- A printed model stands 250 mm tall, 133 mm wide, 187 mm deep;
- Fully articulated model;
- Completely reworked joints;
- Can be upgraded with weapons from the Guns Pack;
- The connector 27_body_beams_x4 needs to be printed 4 times;
- All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.
FFF/FDM 2.2 version replaced 2.1 version due to the updated in the joint mechanisms. For those who use the files of the FFF/FDM 2.1 version it is recommended to download the files 38-41 and 48-51 of the FFF/FDM 2.2 version to use them for 3D printing.
DLP/SLA 2.0 version features:
- Contains 13 parts;
- A printed model stands 150 mm tall, 80 mm wide, 111 mm deep;
- Fully articulated model;
- All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.
FFF/FDM 2.0 and FFF/FDM 2.1 versions features:
- Contain 46 and 47 parts respectively;
- Feature outdated joints;
- A printed model stands 250 mm tall, 133 mm wide, 187 mm deep;
- Fully articulated model;
- Can be upgraded with weapons from the Guns Pack;
FFF/FDM 1.0 and FFF/FDM 1.1 versions features:
- The original versions of MWO Marauder released in 2016;
- The scale of the model is indeterminate;
- Feature outdated joints.

Community Support Team When dealing with DLP/SLA prints, sanding is an inevitable part of the process — you can slightly improve the fit with a light touch of sandpaper. The connections are intentionally designed to be snug, as a tight fit helps keep the model stable and preserves its design and articulation. Otherwise, the mech could collapse under the weight of its parts.
You can also apply a small drop of oil to the joints to help the pieces slide into place more easily. For ball joints specifically, try placing a small piece of note paper between the ball and socket — resin parts tend to have a naturally grippy texture, and the paper can serve as a buffer to make the movement smoother.

These basic 3D printing settings recommendations for beginners were tested in Bambu Studio 1.9.5. Test models were printed on the Bambu Lab A1, Bambu Lab A1 Mini, Creality Ender 3 S1, Anycubic Kobra 2, and Anycubic Vyper using PLA and PETG filaments.
