HISTORY OF MODOK

M.O.D.O.K is an acronym for “Mobile Organism Designed Only for Killing”. Scientists from A.I.M organization (former research division of Hydra) created the Cosmic Cube so powerful that only a bio-engineered “living” computer could handle it. That is how the first MODOK was created – an average technician from A.I.M George Tarleton was randomly selected to be the subject of insane mutagenic experiment. But MODOK had no intention to obey his creators – he killed the owners of the organization in order to become a Scientist Supreme. During his leadership over A.I.M. MODOK fought a number of S.H.I.E.L.D agents but always remained defeated. A.I.M. members grew dissatisfied after MODOK’s multiple failures, so he was deposed as leader and later assassinated by the Serpent Society. A.I.M. kept MODOK’s body trying to use it as a living computer, as it was originally intended, but he was restored to life. In order to defeat his enemies once and for all, MODOK joined the Intelligence team, who created the Red Hulk. When they were trying to recruit Amadeus Cho into their team, he acquired the ability to change reality and turned MODOK back into George Tarleton.

ABOUT THIS 3D FIGURINE

The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers

FDM 1/8 Scale version features:
- Contain 63 parts;
- Assembly kit includes locks. One part of  Lock (7_Ge_lock_10H_(x303)) needs to be printed 303 times.
- Cutting is done so that every detail can be printed on any buildplates of 3D printer;
- Made with a special platform styled in a flying mode;
- All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.

FDM 1/16 scale version features:
- Contain 22 parts;
- Assembly kit includes locks. One part of  Lock (6_Ge_lock_10H_(x27)) needs to be printed 27 times.
- All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.

DLP/SLA version features:
- Same as FDM 1/16 scale, also made as 21 parts;

DLP/SLA Eco version features:
- Same as the DLP/SLA version, but contains parts hollowed out to save resin;

SLS version features:
- Same as SLA but made as 1 part to save your material;

All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

Note: Before starting 3D printing the model, read the Printing Details for CuraSimplify3D or Slic3r Software.

There are 63 parts for FFF/FDM 1/8 version, 22 parts for FFF/FDM 1/16 version, 21 parts for DLP/SLA and for DLP/SLA Eco versions, 1 part for SLS.

Scale: Modok actual height is 3660 mm. The model’s chosen scale is 1/8 for the FDM version and 1/16 for the FFF/FDM/DLP/SLA/SLS version.

FFF/FDM version dimensions:
A printed model is 606 mm tall, 455 mm wide, 389 mm deep;

DLP/SLA/SLS version dimensions:
A printed model is 303 mm tall, 227 mm wide, 195 mm deep;
- Has few details, to keep printing costs down.

Below you can find printing recommendations for CuraSimplify3D and Slic3r software.

Cura printing recommendations:

These are basic settings that were tested in Cura 4.8.0 slicer.

The test models were printed on Ultimaker 2, Creality Ender 3, Creality CR-10S Pro V2, Anycubic I3 Mega, Anycubic I3 MegaS 3D printers with PLA and PETG filaments.

Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use and especially the particular assembly part at hand. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

Note:
- You can scale up the model (downscaling is not recommended!);
- All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill;
- For all parts of locks (“ge_lock” in “Source files”) you need to change "Brim" type to "Skirt" in Build Plate Adhesion section.
