ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL
Super Star Destroyers are Imperial vessels the scale of which significantly exceeds the scale of Imperial Star Destroyers. This spacecraft has a smooth arrow-shaped hull with a command bridge raising in the center; it is equipped with numerous weapons, and hangar bays, and powered with thirteen red ion engines. All about this battleship testifies to its absolute power and resources and, for this reason, the SSD is usually assigned to the most important missions.
Super Star Destroyer for 3D printing is a project that took much time and effort from our contributing 3D artist as this model is of special significance for him. The ship has perfect symmetry, all surface panels are modeled with considerable accuracy. Such sections as the area of the city, the underside, and the ion engines feature exceptional design with every detail made well-considered. Every spaceship fan should 3D print this iconic vessel for their collection to evaluate its quality and design exclusivity!
ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING
Super Star Destroyer model for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 105 hours in total.
For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible, minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support, and make use of the active elements designed by Gambody Engineers, the spacecraft was divided into convenient assembly parts.
All assembly parts in the FFF/FDM 1.0 version are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won’t face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model’s file you will also receive “Assembly Manual” for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA 1.0 versions in PDF and video formats. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly Video” and “Assembly Manual” before getting down to the Super Star Destroyer 3D printing model.
The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.
The model’s scale was calculated from the length of the Super Star Destroyer which is 19000000 mm. The 3D printing model’s chosen scales are 1:15000 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:30000 for the DLP/SLA version.

DLP/SLA 1.0 version features:
- Contains 45 parts;
- A printed model is 51 mm tall, 203 mm wide, 630 mm deep;
- A printed model on the stand is 71 mm tall, 203 mm wide, 630 mm deep;
- Tunnels for LED wiring to illuminate engines;
- Tunnels for wiring to illuminate the hull;
- 2 variants of the platform nameplate: with and without the lettering;
- A significant level of detail is good for printing the files at 150-200% scale;
- All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.

These basic 3D printing settings recommendations for beginners were tested in Bambu Studio 1.9.1. Test models were printed on the Bambu Lab A1, Bambu Lab A1 Mini, Creality Ender 3 S1, Anycubic Kobra 2, and Anycubic Vyper using PLA and PETGfilaments.
