ABOUT THIS 3D FIGURINE

Deadpool or Merc with a Mouth is a highly sarcastic and maybe the most unconventional anti-hero of the Marvel universe. A former special forces operative Wade Wilson now with a face that is the stuff of nightmares had a resounding success once the reboot to the Deadpool character was released on the big screen in 2016. The movie starring an extremely shameless mutant with a seemingly never-ending inability to stop talking resulted in becoming the highest R-rated film to date! No wonder the mercenary with crazy superhuman abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humour won hearts of millions of adult comics fans. And the author of this 3D printing figurine is no exception! The 3D artist decided to take an unusual turn and spent 85 hours to create an amusing chibi (or, rather, a chubby) version of the well-liked character. The tiny Wade Wilson is depicted with a loaded gun in one hand, the pizza slice in the other (well, that’s where chubbiness came from) and the two usual katanas on the back. That cunning smirk that the chubby Deadpool casts totally reminds us of a stunning Ryan Reynolds’ character portrayal that will definitely inspire many 3D printing fans to take up such a cute project!

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Chubby Deadpool for 3D printing is a static assembly figurine and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 25 hours in total. The model’s cutting in its assembly version was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the Deadpool’s Eco version. In order to ensure the smooth result, the figurine’s katanas, both hands holding the gun and a pizza slice and unicorn backpack are provided as separate STL files. All the assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate.

The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Deadpool's actual height that is 1880 mm. The 3D printing figurine's chosen scale is 1/16 for all the model's versions (FFF/FDM, DLP/SLA/SLS, DLP/SLA/SLS Eco).

FAQ:

Where can I print a model if I have no printer?
How to get started with 3D printing?
How to set up my 3D printer?
How to choose right 3D model print bed positioning?
How to paint printed figurine?

Below you can find printing recommendations for CuraSimplify3D and Slic3r software.

Cura printing recommendations:

These are basic settings that were tested in Cura 4.8.0 slicer.

The test models were printed on Ultimaker 2, Creality Ender 3, Creality CR-10S Pro V2, Anycubic I3 Mega, Anycubic I3 MegaS 3D printers with PLA and PETG filaments.

Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use and especially the particular assembly part at hand. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

Note:
- You can scale up the model (downscaling is not recommended!);
- All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill;
- For all parts of locks (“ge_lock” in “Source files”) you need to change "Brim" type to "Skirt" in Build Plate Adhesion section.
