ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

Although the logistical genius Captain Nemo had the parts manufactured and shipped to him in secret, you won’t need to build your Nautilus under the cover of darkness! The spectacular 3D printing model inspired by the heart of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea sci-fi adventure film is now available in the form of STL files that can come to life in your 3D printing workshop.

The ornate submarine has a unique design that makes it resemble an unknown marine master - its oblong body is sharpened with spikes and decorated with hundreds of rivets, and the illuminated portholes protrude as if the creature’s eyes. In addition to that, the vessel for 3D printing is enhanced with the detailed wheelhouse and salon interior, opening hatches that hide secrets underneath, and other peculiar elements. Savvy captains can explore the active elements of the Nautilus 3D model and even equip it with an engine to sail to distant lands!

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Nautilus Submarine for 3D printing is an active assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 57 hours in total.

For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible and minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support, the Nautilus Submarine was divided into convenient assembly parts.
All assembly parts in the FFF/FDM 1.0 version are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. After downloading any model's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA 1.0 versions in PDF format. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly video” and "Assembly Manual" before getting down to the Nautilus Submarine model.

The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model’s scale was calculated from the approximate length of the Nautilus Submarine - 55 000 mm. The 3D printing model’s chosen scales are 1/100 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/200 for the DLP/SLA version.
