ABOUT THIS 3D FIGURINE

Persephone, also known as Kore or Proserpina, was the daughter Zeus and the goddess of vegetation, spring and agriculture in Greek mythology. According to the myth, Persephone was abducted by Hades, the God-King of the Underworld and soon was forced to become his Queen. Since then she was obliged to spend a third of each year (the winter months) in the Underworld, and the remaining part of the year she could rule with the Gods above, on earth. The 3D artist spent 162 hours on the project and paid meticulous attention to every little detail that the beautiful goddess figurine comprises. Persephone for 3D printing is depicted stately and powerful, with her posture majestic and her stare confident. The lady’s thick hair is shown descending in soft curls and her clothes definitely look like something easily associated with Greek gods. Gladiator sandals, snake armband, elegant jewellery and accessories - the author of the 3D printing model made sure this Persephone will be interesting to print, paint and simply look at. As it befits the Queen of the Underworld, 3D printing Persephone figurine holds a bident, a weapon commonly associated with Hades. Her bident has two pointed prongs and a sharp ferrule that is plunged into a skull. Finally, the goddess of agriculture is depicted standing on a platform that once again reminds us of her husband’s origin. The base is adorned with Underworld-related symbols, skulls, Greek meander and even human skeleton hands. We are sure that with such a spectacular appearance a 3D printing Queen of the Underworld will look fantastic among your collection! 

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Persephone figurine for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 46 hours in total. Figurine’s anatomy was thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the beautiful goddess to be depicted harmoniously in the intended pose. The model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the figurine’s Eco version. For you to receive the cleanest result possible the bident that Kore is holding was extracted from the hand and divided into three separate parts. In order to conceal the places where the assembly parts of the model must be connected, the figurine was cut along the contour of the goddess’ clothes and accessories seams. What is more, in order to ensure an excellent quality of the 3D printed result, such finer parts as Persephone’s hair, her gladiator sandals, skull-like ferrule or the head of the bident are provided as separate parts as well. All the assembly parts come in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and so that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate.

The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Persephone's height that is 1650 mm. The 3D printing figurine's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.

VERSIONS' SPECIFICATIONS

FFF/FDM 1.0 version features:

- A printed model is 246 mm tall, 112 mm wide, 119 mm deep;
- Made with a platform adorned with Underworld-related symbols, skulls and a meander;
- All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.

DLP/SLA 1.0 version features:
- Contains 7 parts;
- A printed model is 123 mm tall, 56 mm wide, 59 mm deep;
- Made with a platform adorned with Underworld-related symbols, skulls and a meander;
- All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.

DLP/SLA Eco 1.0 version features:
- Contains 7 parts;
- A printed model is 123 mm tall, 56 mm wide, 59 mm deep;
- Made with a platform adorned with Underworld-related symbols, skulls and a meander;
- Contains some hollowed out parts to save resin.

SLS 1.0 version features:
- Made as a solid one-piece figurine;
- A printed model is 123 mm tall, 56 mm wide, 59 mm deep;
- Contains 3 parts - a one-piece model and Persephone with the platform separated.
