ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

The Empire's relentless march across the battlefields of the galaxy called for a new kind of ground vehicle—and the TIE Crawler answered that call. Forged in the heart of the Star Wars universe, this rugged variant of the TIE series combined the iconic spherical cockpit of a TIE Bomber with mechanized tank treads, allowing Imperial forces to breach fortified positions and dominate planetary engagements. Clad in stark black armor and bristling with laser cannons, the TIE Crawler became a fearsome symbol of Imperial power on worlds from Endor to Hoth.

It's time to add this specialized Imperial vehicle to your collection with the premium TIE Crawler 3D print model! The model features a robust track system designed for realism. Builders can choose from three track options: a single-piece version for printing with flexible filament, linkable segments that connect together into a continuous tread, or a fixed rigid display variant. Active suspension, working wheels, and adjustable track tensioning mechanism add incredible functionality and display possibilities. The weaponry includes retractable side guns that can rotate and lower, and a primary gun turret that can rotate, allowing for dynamic posing. Creators also have three canopy options for the cockpit: framed, solid, or framed with separate glass parts for printing with transparent material. ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

TIE Crawler 3D printing design is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 81 hours in total.

For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible, minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support, and make use of the active elements designed by Gambody Engineers, the vehicle was divided into convenient assembly parts.

All assembly parts in the FFF/FDM versions are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won’t face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model’s file you will also receive “Assembly Manual” for 2.0 FFF/FDM and 2.0 DLP/SLA versions in PDF and video formats. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the "Assembly Video" and “Assembly Manual” before getting down to the TIE Crawler.

The design is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The 3D model’s scale was calculated from the length of the TIE Crawler. The 3D printer design’s chosen scales are 1:34 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:68 for the DLP/SLA version.

  • Designed for LED lighting: Includes LED tunnels for cockpit illumination and a battery compartment in the rear;
  • All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.

1.0 FFF/FDM version features:

  • Initial version of the model;
  • Contains 13 parts;
  • A printed version is 291 mm tall, 126 mm wide, 267 mm deep;
  • All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.

The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use, and especially the particular assembly part you are working with. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review, and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

Note:

You can scale up the model (downscaling for FFF/FDM 3D printers is not recommended!);

All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill.

Bambu Lab printing recommendations:

These basic 3D printing settings recommendations for beginners were tested in Bambu Studio 1.9.1. Test models were printed on the Bambu Lab A1, Bambu Lab A1 Mini, Creality Ender 3 S1, Anycubic Kobra 2, and Anycubic Vyper using PLA and PETG filaments.
