Joel is a protagonist of The Last of Us, a cynical smuggler with a big heart and extremely tragic fate. He was tasked with watching over Ellie and in the course of the game’s plot a player can observe the reluctant bonding of two strong-willed characters. The author of Joel figurine for 3D printing spent 220 hours in total for any post-apocalyptic video game fan to acquire the very own adventurous smuggler into one’s collection. With Joel being depicted in his typical winter medium weight coat, it is clear that the 3D artist went for the pivotal moment in the game when the protagonist was badly wounded. Still recovering from the serious injury, it is no wonder that Joel figurine looks rather worn and weak although on high alert ready to defend young Ellie at any cost. The model carries an old, shabby backpack with a flashlight attached to the strap and a gas mask hanging behind. Joel figurine comes with two different weapons for you to choose from in order to equip the 3D printed model with. There are a rifle and a flamethrower that are interchangeable for your assemble Joel to yield either of two, leaving the second one attached to the back. The author of the 3D printing figurine clearly paid a lot of attention to the model’s fine details. For example, Joel’s homemade flamethrower does come with a bicycle brake lever to replace trigger and has a small propane tank attached to the bottom. A ruthless smuggler in the past and a caring father figure to Ellie now is definitely a must-have for any enthusiast of the extremely immersive video game. Joel figurine for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 53 hours in total. Figurine’s anatomy was thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the man to be depicted harmoniously in the intended defensive pose. The model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the model’s Eco version. For you to achieve the cleanest result possible such smaller parts as figurine’s flashlight, backpack, gas-mask, gas-mask filter, parts of rifle and flamethrower etc. are provided as separate files. A barrel that is as a part of the platform can be assembled either with a simple lid or flames for you to choose from. Joel figurine can be showcased holding either of two weapons - the rifle or flamethrower - leaving the other on the back, hence two variants of hands to fit each weapon. All the assembly parts come in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. 

The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Joel's actual height that is 1800 mm. The 3D printing figurine's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.


FFF/FDM 1.0 version features:
- Contains 28 parts;
- A printed model is 250 mm tall, 233 mm wide, 208 mm deep;
- Assembly kit includes locks to attach the model's parts securely without glue. One lock 27_ge_lock_7S(x1) needs to be printed once; lock 28_ge_lock_10H(x12) needs to be printed 12 times;
- Comes with two variants of hand to fit either rifle or flamethrower;
- Made with a platform to recreate the winter chapter of The Last of Us with Ellie​;
- All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.

DLP/SLA 1.0 version features:
- Contains 14 parts;
- A printed model is 125 mm tall, 117 mm wide, 104 mm deep;
- Comes with two variants of hand to fit either rifle or flamethrower;
- Made with a platform to recreate the winter chapter of The Last of Us with Ellie​;
- All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.

DLP/SLA Eco 1.0 version features:
- Contains 14 parts;
- A printed model is 125 mm tall, 117 mm wide, 104 mm deep;
- Comes with two variants of hand to fit either rifle or flamethrower;
- Made with a platform to recreate the winter chapter of The Last of Us with Ellie​;
- Contains some hollowed out parts to save resin.

SLS 1.0 version features:
- Made as a solid one-piece figurine;
- A printed model is 125 mm tall, 117 mm wide, 104 mm deep;
- Contains 6 parts - one-piece Joel figurine with two variants of hand to fit rifle or flamethrower that also come separately + two variants of the platform - with fire in the barrel and without.
