ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL
Kong is a larger-than-life primate, the world's favourite giant and one of the most famous pop culture icons. Since his very first appearance in 1933, the image of King Kong has never ceased to develop and depending on the narrative, Kong can be both a violent rampaging ape and a misunderstood antihero. To the delight of many kaiju fans, the recently launched MonsterVerse franchise features the well-liked ape monster not only as a guest beast but also pits the giant against the King of the Monsters.
The Eighth Wonder of the World figurine for 3D printing by our contributing 3D artist portrays the raging monster in all its glory. The grandiose King of Skull Island is depicted giving the deep “ground-shaking" roar. The body of the 3D printing primate is covered with thick fur, while three distinctive scars adorn its broad chest. In addition to that, “The Mountain who Thunders Death” comes with a switch out bearded head for you to choose your favourite portrayal of the King!
ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING
Kong is a static assembly figurine and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 42 hours in total. The impressively detailed figurine in its assembly version was divided into as many assembly parts as needed to fit even the smallest 3D printers' build plates and for you to receive a huge 3D printed piece after assembly. The cutting of the Kong figurine was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the model’s parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the model’s Eco version. The model’s platform was divided into four parts to fit the build plates of the average 3D printers. All assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommendedpositions that were worked out to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any figurine's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA 1.0 versions in PDF format.
The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.
The model's scale was calculated from Kong's approximate height which is 120 m. The 3D printing figurine's chosen scale is 1:250 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:500 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.
