Arya Stark, one of the brightest characters of the highly acclaimed fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire will always be remembered as Hero of Winterfell by millions of the television adaptation’s fans. Being born and raised in the North, the youngest daughter of Ned and Catelyn Stark is expected to follow her sister’s suit and become a princess engaging in activities befitting a lady. But feisty and independent Arya Stark completely rejects common female pursuits. On the contrary, the tomboy is fascinated by all kinds of martial arts and during the character’s development throughout the show Arya masters her fighting skills to an incredible extent and can even rival the best warriors in Westeros. The tragic sequence of events House Stark suffers not only hardens the young warrior but also makes Arya increasingly ruthless. Perfecting her sneaking skills, No One wields her agile Needle and chooses murder as the prime solution. The outcome of the Battle of Ice and Fire was able to leave the viewers speechless and the author of this 3D printing figurine, also impressed by the scene that took place in the Godswood depicted the young and determined hero leaping out of the darkness so to stab the Night King with Valyrian steel dagger. The creative process took the 3D artist 118 hours to finish the project that resulted in an incredible figurine mounted on a Weirwood Tree-like platform to capture the iconic confrontation scene. “What do we say to the God of Death? Not today!” - Arya’s strong will and unyielding determination is an amazing example of the traits a real hero should possess and we are sure that obtaining such a unique 3D printing figurine will become a priceless acquisition of any GoT fan!


Arya figurine for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 29 hours in total. Figurine’s anatomy was thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the hero of Winterfell to be depicted harmoniously in the intended leaping attack pose. The model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin. Moreover, in order to conceal the places where assembly parts of the model must be connected, the figurine was cut along the contour of Arya’s suit seams and folds. For you to receive the cleanest results possible the Valyrian steel dagger was extracted from Arya’s hand and such smaller parts as Needle and dagger’s scabbard are provided as separate files. The figurine's platform that resembles the Weirwood Tree was divided into 6 separate parts to fit even the smallest 3D printers’ build plates. All the assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. 

The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Arya's actual height that is 1550 mm. The 3D printing figurine's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.


FFF/FDM 1.0 version features:
- Contains 21 parts;
- A printed model is 275 mm tall, 246 mm wide, 356 mm deep;
- Assembly kit includes one lock 21_ge_lock_7S_(x1) to attach the figurine's body to legs and another lock 20_ge_lock_10H_(x26) to connect the platform's parts securely without glue that needs to be printed 26 times;
- Made with a platform resembling the Weirwood Tree;
- The version's file #3 is available in two variants: the lower body with both legs (3_legs_FDM) and the lower body with the left leg separated to reduce the number of support constructions (3_legs_V2_1_FDM, 3_legs_V2_2_FDM);
- All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.

DLP/SLA 1.0 version features:
- Contains 8 parts;
- A printed model is 138 mm tall, 123 mm wide, 178 mm deep;
- Made with a platform resembling the Weirwood Tree;
- All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.

DLP/SLA Eco 1.0 version features:
- Contains 8 parts;
- A printed model is 138 mm tall, 123 mm wide, 178 mm deep;
- Made with a platform resembling the Weirwood Tree;
- Contains some hollowed out parts to save resin.

SLS 1.0 version features:
- Made as a solid one-piece figurine;
- A printed model is 138 mm tall, 123 mm wide, 178 mm deep;
- Contains 2 parts - a one-piece model with the platform separated.

This model was tested in Cura 3.5.1 and printed on an Ultimaker 2 in PLA material. Below you can find printing recommendations for CuraSimplify3D and Slic3r softwares.
