Jake Sully is the protagonist of the legendary 2009 Avatar movie that retained the title of the highest-grossing movie ever made for almost 10 years. The former paraplegic Marine’s life changed completely once he joined the Avatar Program aimed at exploration of the beautiful habitable moon Pandora. Being “uploaded” into the Na'vi-human hybrid Jake Sully felt invincible - with the regained ability to walk and a unique chance to blend in the people of the fairytale-like planet, the Avatar found his bearings surprisingly quickly. Under Neytiri’s careful guidance Jake got to know the fascinating nature of the incredible Pandora, got acquainted with its inhabitants and explored the abilities of his new body with the diligence only a military man can have. And what truly inspired both the grieving Na'vi race and the 3D artist who came up with this stunning 3D printing project is the courage and heroism that Jake Sully displayed fighting for Pandora. Having figured out the devastating consequences of human interference that both the planet and its inhabitants would face, the Avatar took the lead and became the fearless and respected protector of Na'vi race. The particular scene that gave the author of the figurine an idea to choose this very pose was Toruk Makto’s powerful speech that managed to lift the spirits of the hopeless people. The 3D artist put his heart and soul into the project and spent 110 hours to bring to life the brave character ready to fight for a foreign planet that slowly became its home. Na'vi couldn't even doubt Jake’s exceptional worthiness once he managed to ride a great leonopteryx and now the Avatar can also join your 3D printed collection together with the majestic Toruk.


Jake Sully figurine for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 38 hours in total. Figurine’s anatomy was thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the sixth Toruk Makto to be depicted harmoniously in the intended courageous pose. The model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the model’s Eco version. Moreover, in order to conceal places where assembly parts of the model must be connected, the figurine was cut along the contour of Avatar's clothes folds and accessories seams. For you to receive the cleanest results possible such smaller parts as Jake’s braids, tail, weapon and accessories are provided as separate files. Jake Sully figurine is available in three scales with the 1:32 being of the corresponding size to complete the diorama with Toruk model. All the assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. 

The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Jake Sully's actual height that is 3000 mm. The 3D printing figurine is available in 1/8 scale for the FFF/FDM version and in 1/16 and 1/32 scales for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.


FFF/FDM 1.0 version features:
- Contains 29 parts;
- A printed model is 419 mm tall, 326 mm wide, 295 mm deep;
- Assembly kit includes one lock 29_ge_lock_10H(x21) to attach the figurine's body to legs securely without glue;
- All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.

DLP/SLA 1.0 (1:16 Scale) version features:
- Contains 19 parts;
- A printed model is 210 mm tall, 163 mm wide, 148 mm deep;
- All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.

DLP/SLA 1.0 (1:32 Scale) version features:
- Contains 19 parts;
- A printed model is 105 mm tall, 82 mm wide, 74 mm deep;
- The version's scale is chosen for you to complete the diorama with Toruk figurine; 
- All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.

DLP/SLA Eco 1.0 (1:16 Scale) version features:
- Contains 19 parts;
- A printed model is 210 mm tall, 163 mm wide, 148 mm deep;
- Contains some hollowed out parts to save resin.

SLS 1.0 (1:16 Scale) version features:
- Made as a solid one-piece figurine;
- A printed model is 210 mm tall, 163 mm wide, 148 mm deep;
- Contains 3 parts - one-piece figurine and Jake Sully with the platform separated.

SLS 1.0 (1:32 Scale) version features:
- Made as a solid one-piece figurine;
- A printed model is 105 mm tall, 82 mm wide, 74 mm deep;

Cura printing recommendations:

These are basic settings that were tested in Cura 4.8.0 slicer. 

The test models were printed on Ultimaker 2, Creality Ender 3, Creality CR-10S Pro V2, Anycubic I3 Mega, Anycubic I3 MegaS 3D printers with PLA and PETG filaments.

Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use and especially the particular assembly part at hand. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

- You can scale up the model (downscaling is not recommended!);
- All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill;
