ABOUT THIS 3D FIGURINE

Jaina Proudmoore is one of the focal characters in the Warcraft fantasy universe, the Lord Admiral of Kul Tiras and the former Ruler of Theramore. Being one of the most powerful sorceresses on Azeroth and constantly showing independence and strength of spirit, Jaine proved to be a true and respected leader of her people and ultimately became one of the most iconic characters in Warcraft lore. Highly acclaimed by gamers and fans of the online role-playing game, Jaina Proudmoore has a strong fanbase among artists, who constantly come up with astonishing fan arts that do a brilliant job conveying the sorceress’ magical personality and appearance. 3D enthusiasts are no exception - inspired by one of the fan concepts, the author of this 3D printing figurine spent 160 hours to create a unique Jaina Proudmoore model for all WoW fans to enjoy. The 3D artist portrayed the Daughter of the Sea looking downright heroic, as she appears is the seventh expansion for World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth. Her beautiful thick hair is plaited with a couple of locks adorning the mage’s face. Jaina’s armour resembles the naval one of Kul Tiras, she wears armoured pauldron and vambrace and holds the Staff of Antonidas in her right hand. The character’s alignment might have shifted from lawful good in the course of the story’s development but anyway it's highly unlikely that anyone would be able to resist obtaining the beautiful Jaina Proudmoore figurine for the 3D printed collection.

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Jaina figurine for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 50 hours in total. Figurine’s anatomy was thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the Lord Admiral of Kul Tiras to be depicted harmoniously in the intended magical pose. The model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the model’s Eco version. Moreover, in order to conceal places where assembly parts of the model must be connected, the figurine was cut along the contour of Jaina’a armour seams and her cloak was “taken off” to ensure the clean 3D printed result. With the same intention, such smaller parts as figurine’s leather bags, the Staff of Antonidas, locks, mage’s braid, pauldron etc. are provided as separate files. The model comes with two variants of the platform for you to choose from - the large one, resembling the streams of magic conjured by the sorceress that comes in many assembly pieces to fit any printer’s build plate, and a smaller one for you to simply display the figurine on. The smaller version of base actually happens to be one of the parts to complete the bigger platform, so if willing you will be able to simply print out the rest of the assembly pieces. All assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate.  

The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Jaina's actual height that is 1800 mm. The 3D printing figurine's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.

VERSIONS' SPECIFICATIONS

FFF/FDM 1.0 version features:
- Contains 37 parts;
- A printed model is 299 mm tall, 223 mm wide, 204 mm deep;
- Assembly kit includes locks to attach the figurine's parts securely without glue. One lock 36_ge_lock_10H(x13)​ needs to be printed 13 times; lock 37_ge_lock_7S(x1) needs to be printed once;
- Comes with two variants of the platform - the large assembly base to resemble the sorceress' magic and a smaller one for you to simply mount the figurine on;
- All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.

DLP/SLA 1.0 version features:
- Contains 16 parts;
- A printed model is 150 mm tall, 112 mm wide, 102 mm deep;
- Comes with two variants of the platform - the large assembly base to resemble the sorceress' magic and a smaller one for you to simply mount the figurine on;
- All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.

DLP/SLA Eco 1.0 version features:
- Contains 16 parts;
- A printed model is 150 mm tall, 112 mm wide, 102 mm deep;
- Comes with two variants of the platform - the large assembly base to resemble the sorceress' magic and a smaller one for you to simply mount the figurine on;
- Contains some hollowed out parts to save resin.

SLS 1.0 version features:
- Made as a solid one-piece figurine;
- A printed model is 150 mm tall, 112 mm wide, 102 mm deep;
- Contains 5 parts - a complete one-piece figurine and Jaina with both versions of the platform separated.

These are basic settings that were tested in Cura 4.8.0 slicer. 

The test models were printed on Ultimaker 2, Creality Ender 3, Creality CR-10S Pro V2, Anycubic I3 Mega, Anycubic I3 MegaS 3D printers with PLA and PETG filaments.

Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use and especially the particular assembly part at hand.
