ABOUT THIS 3D FIGURINE

John Stewart is a fictional superhero who first appeared as a backup within Green Lantern universe to then-active Hal Jordan soon to become selected for full-time leader duty. The first African-American superhero to appear in DC Comics is known for his impressive architecture expertise, great sniper skills and military excellence that make him one of the Green Lantern Corps most exceptional members. What is more, unlike other Green Lanterns, John doesn't wear a physical Power ring - he has the symbol tattooed on his finger turning his whole body into one Green Lantern ring. The unknown full nature and extent of John’s capabilities must be something that truly excites both the comics fans and the phenomenon that inspired the 3D artist for this amazing figurine for 3D printing. The project took its author 144 hours to complete and just as he appears in comic books, John Stewart is depicted not wearing a domino mask to protect his true identity. Besides, being an accomplished architect Stewart's energy constructs are known for never being hollow. He is said to always be building them from the inside out, taking into consideration every single detail of his intricate and powerful creations. The 3D printing John is portrayed mere seconds from delivering an energy blow with his massive generated fist. The never-ending dispute over who would win in a battle - Hal Jordan or John Stewart can be encountered in any comment thread dedicated to Green Lantern universe. The 3D artist’s work in no exception - John Green Lantern figurine is actually the part of the “Green Lantern” diorama that showcases both superheroes in the middle of the heated floating battle. 

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

John Stewart figurine for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 45 hours in total. The figurine’s anatomy was thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the Green Lantern to be depicted harmoniously in the intended fighting pose. The model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin. Moreover, in order to conceal the places where assembly parts of the model must be connected, the figurine was cut along the contour of Green Lantern suit’s seams. The figurine's platform that resembles the energy conduit generated by Power Ring was divided into 5 separate parts to fit even the smallest 3D printers’ build plates. All the assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. 

The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from John Stewart's actual height that is 1850 mm. The 3D printing figurine's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.

VERSIONS' SPECIFICATIONS

FFF/FDM 1.0 version features:
- Contains 21 parts;
- A printed model is 345 mm tall, 217 mm wide, 212 mm deep;
- Assembly kit includes locks to connect parts securely without glue. One lock 20_ge_lock_7S(x2) needs to be printed twice and another one 21_ge_lock_10H(x22)needs to be printed 22 times;
- Made with a platform to resemble the energy conduit generated by Power Ring;
- All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.

DLP/SLA 1.0 version features:
- Contains 8 parts;
- A printed model is 173 mm tall, 109 mm wide, 106 mm deep;
- Made with a platform to resemble the energy conduit generated by Power Ring;
- All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to make sure that support structures are generated where needed.

DLP/SLA Eco 1.0 version features:
- Contains 8 parts;
- A printed model is 173 mm tall, 109 mm wide, 106 mm deep;
- Made with a platform to resemble the energy conduit generated by Power Ring;
- Contains some hollowed out parts to save resin.

SLS 1.0 version features:
- Made as a solid one-piece figurine;
- A printed model is 173 mm tall, 109 mm wide, 106 mm deep;
- Contains 4 parts - a one-piece model and the figurine with energy conduit and base separated.
