Printing Details

This 3D model consists of files in StereoLithography (.Stl) format that have been optimized for 3D printing.

Before printing the files, we strongly recommend reading the PRINTING DETAILS section.

Version 4 and Version 5 are the new files for Marauder MWO 3D Model optimized for 3D printing, the preview pictures of which you see above.

It is recommended:

  • Version 1 STL files on FDM/FFF 1.0 3D printers - old version with old joints;
  • Version 2 STL files on FDM/FFF 2.0 3D printers - old updated version;
  • Version 3 STL files on FDM/FFF 3.0 3D printers - new version with new scale and new joints;
  • Version 4 STL files on FDM/FFF 3.1 3D printers - new version of knee and elbow joints;
  • Version 5 STL files on DLP/SLA/SLS 1.0 3D printers - new version with new scale and new joints.

Marauder is another bipedal Mech from the BattleTech Universe. The Marauder design has somehow detached from the traditional Mechs’ humanoid look and resembles more to a robot vehicle. The Mech was built to be used in attacks and as a fire support BattleMech.

BattleTech Marauder 3D model is what the BattleTech Universe bipedal vehicle is. Its distinguishable feature is the GM Whirlwind Autocannon/5 that crowns its torso.

Marauder Mech 3D model is what you need to add to your army of bipedal vehicles. Equipped with long-range firepower PPCs and the Autocannon, the Mech could withstand heavy combat.

Marauder model for 3D printing is a poseable figurine, with workable legs and hands. The Mech’s torso is also operational, rotating at 360°.

Bonus: Marauder 3D model’s weapons are completely removable. This means you will be able to remove the model’s regular weapons pack and attach other, upgraded weapons.

Modeling BattleTech Marauder 3D model

All in all, the 3D model consists of 42 parts. Every part is modeled in Autodesk Maya 3D modeling program. Every part has undergone thorough checking in Netfabb, to ensure error-free and accurate 3D printing.

BattleTech Marauder action figurine is a 3D model optimized for 3D printing on any type of 3D printers: SLA/SLS and FFF.

All parts are converted into STL file format. They can be easily handled in any slicing program, such as Cura 15.06 or Simplify3D.

On 03.11.2017 new scale and new version of joints have been added.

 

Now, the 3D Model of Marauder MWO is available in two scale: 1/60 for Version 3 (FDM/FFF) and 1/100 for Version 4 (DLP/SLA/SLS).

There are 46 parts in Version 3 (FDM/FFF) and 8 parts for Version 4 (DLP/SLA/SLS).

Version 3 (FDM/FFF):
- Is 1:60 scale and after being printed will stand 250 mm tall, 133 mm wide, 187 mm deep;
- Made with new joints;
- All movable elements of the Marauder Mech were saved.

Version 4 (DLP/SLA/SLS):
- Is 1:100 scale and will stand 150 mm tall, 80 mm wide, 111 mm deep;
- Made with new joints;
- All movable elements of the Marauder Mech were saved;
- Has as few details as possible to keep printing costs down.

With new joints from Version 3 and Version 4 you will get next advantages:
1. Increases frictional force;
2. Possible to up scale or down scale the whole model;
3. Printable from any type of material;
4. Higher strength;
5. Material shrinkage does not affect at strength and friction.

On 14.09.2018 new knee and elbow joints have been added.

Now the Marauder 3D model has new, more durable knee and elbow joints to improve the model’s stability. They reliably fix and allow changing the model’s pose. Due to the improved durability, the joints do not wear off because of frequent changes in the model’s pose. The new knee and elbow joints are simpler to print and better fit the overall design and appearance of the model. They are also completely replaceable, and you don’t have to reprint the whole model to replace one of these parts.

Now this model contain parts of Locks. One part of Lock (47_Ge_lock_10H_(x4)) you need to print 4 times.

STL files with new joints are already available for download in “Source files” tab FFF/FDM 3.1 Version.

This model was tested in Cura 3.4.1 and printed on an Ultimaker 2 in PLA material. Below you can find printing recommendations for Cura and Simplify3D softwares.

Cura printing recommendations:

Recommendations: For all parts of Locks you need to change "Brim" type to "Skirt" in Build Plate Adhesion section.

- You can print new joints from Version 3 and Version 4 with 20-30% infill. 
- With the new joints from Version 3 and Version 4 you can up scale or down scale the whole model.
