Printing Details

This 3D model consists of files in StereoLithography (.Stl) format that have been optimized for 3D printing.

Before printing the files, we strongly recommend reading the PRINTING DETAILS section.

Version 2 and Version 3 are the new files for War Hammer MWO 3D Model optimized for 3D printing, the preview pictures of which you see above.

It is recommended:

  • Version 1 STL files on FDM/FFF 3D printers - old version with old joints;
  • Version 2 STL files on FDM/FFF 3D printers - new version with new scale and new joints;
  • Version 3 STL files on DLP/SLA/SLS 3D printers - new version with new scale and new joints.

MWO War Hammer 3D model is inspired by the MWO video game, so popular among players all over the world. This mech is bulkier than its brethren, with heavy armour and firepower, capable of destroying or producing severe damage to other mechs from the same class or inferior.

Being a popular bipedal vehicle in the BattleTech Universe, War Hammer mech displays respectable armouring, serving in different programs, thus becoming one of the greatest MechWarrior in the history. 

MWO War Hammer build is well protected by ten tons of armouring and incredible weaponry. Nevertheless its heavy construction, this mech has the freedom to maneuver weapons and fire without difficulty. 

Belonging to the class of heavy mechs, War Hammer engine can develop a top speed of 64.8 km/h, which ensures its capability to take part in most action engagements.

Building BattleTech 3D model

Whm 6D Battlemech 3D model features its heavy armor and weaponry reproduced for 3D printing. Every part of the mech has been designed to fit onto 18 x19 cm print bed. The model was created in Maya 3D modeling program. It is a high-poly, articulated model. 

The files are saved in STL format that is the most popular file format for 3D printing. The modeler made sure that you will handle the files easily in any 3D slicing program, such as Cura, or Simplify3D.

Assemble your own beast of war

Battletech War Hammer mech 3D print consists of 52 parts. After the assembly, the model will stand 250mm tall, 150mm wide, and 139mm deep.

On 26.12.2016 the model files have been optimized and made solid. They now are adapted to be 3D printed using any slicing program. 3D model files are already available for purchase and download. 


On 01.12.2017 new scale and new version of joints have been added.


Now, the 3D Model of War Hammer MWO is available in two scale: 1/60 for Version 2 (FDM/FFF) and 1/100 for Version 3 (DLP/SLA/SLS).

There are 33 parts in Version 2 (FDM/FFF) and 12 parts for Version 3 (DLP/SLA/SLS).

Version 2 (FDM/FFF):
- Is 1:60 scale and after being printed will stand 290 mm tall, 183 mm wide, 164 mm deep;
- Made with new joints;
- All movable elements of the War Hammer Mech were saved.

Version 3 (DLP/SLA/SLS):
- Is 1:100 scale and will stand 174 mm tall, 110 mm wide, 99 mm deep;
- Made with new joints;
- All movable elements of the War Hammer Mech were saved;
- Has as few details as possible to keep printing costs down.

With new joints from Version 2 and Version 3 you will get next advantages:
1. Increases frictional force;
2. Possible to up scale or down scale the whole model;
3. Printable from any type of material;
4. Higher strength;
5. Material shrinkage does not affect at strength and friction.

This model was tested in Cura 3.0.4. and print on an Ultimaker 2 in PLA material.


- You can print new joints from Version 2 and Version 3 with 20-30% infill. 
- With the new joints from Version 2 and Version 3 you can up scale or down scale the whole model.

- All parts of connectors should be printed at 100% infill.
