ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL
Harry Potter movies are famous for their special, warm atmosphere that gives special feelings and makes us feel part of the great wizarding world. Beautiful Hogwarts castle with large halls, spacious classrooms, cozy bedrooms, tall towers, and moving stairs is a place that Harry can call his “true home” and where “the boy who lived” learns the art of magic under the guidance of wise Professor Dumbledore. Hogwarts Express that ran between London King's Cross Station Platform 9¾ and Hogsmeade Station is the main transport to get to the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it is the place where Harry met Ron and Hermione and where started his acquaintance with the world of magic.
The 5972 Olton Hall Hall class locomotive that served as a basis for the depiction of Hogwarts Express was modeled by our talented 3D artist who was impressed by the construction of the train and its role in the movie. The author thoroughly reviewed the design of the vehicle and made sure that the main functions and mechanisms and the design correspond to the real locomotive. The steam locomotive has a range of active elements such as movable wheels and pistons and an active brake system, there is an option to install a steam generator inside the boiler, and the coal car can be filled with the coal, among other things. The design of the main parts of the steam locomotive, such as the boiler, the cab, and the tender, is done so accurately that it can not but impress: all main mechanisms and elements are preserved, the texture of the parts repeat the texture of the original material of the rail vehicle, there are movable controls in the cab (FDM version) and the plates featuring the logo and lettering. Hogwarts Express Steam Locomotive is more than just a model for 3D printing, it's evidence of the fact that the magic is real!
ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING
The Hogwarts Express 3D Printing Model | Assembly Kit 1: Steam Locomotive model for 3D printing is an active assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 98 hours in total.
For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible, minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support, and make use of the active elements designed by Gambody Engineers, the locomotive was divided into convenient assembly parts.
All assembly parts in the FFF/FDM 1.0 version are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won’t face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model’s file you will also receive “Assembly Manual” for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA 1.0 versions in PDF and video formats. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly Video” and “Assembly Manual” before getting down to the Hogwarts Express 3D printing model.
The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

This is the description of the model's Assembly Kit 1 Steam Locomotive. Assembly Kit 2 King’s Cross Station is sold as a separate item. Assembly Kit 1 and Assembly Kit 2 allow you to assemble a complete canonical steam locomotive.

A printed model is 150 mm tall, 125 mm wide, 751 mm deep;
3 variants of hopper wagon: with the lettering, with a plate, and a clean one;
Movable controls in the cab;
2 variants of the platform plate: with and without the lettering;
2 variants of the front boiler plate: with and without the lettering;
Removable hatch to access the battery;
For the coal car, you can use either 3D-printed coal or natural one;
Rising threshold ramp in the cab;
Coquille to form the accurate shape of the filament;
The smokestack has a hole and you can place a steam generator inside;
Bogies in the front and back partially rotate;
Movable wheels and pistons;
Movable brake system;
Tunnels for LED wiring to light up the headlight;
You can extend the platform by 3D printing its multiple copies;
All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.
