ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL
For many reasons, Ridley Scott's 1982 dystopian film Blade Runner is considered to be a true masterpiece of cinema and the greatest sci-fi movie of all time. The sci-fi cult classic was clearly ahead of its time with its jaw-dropping production design, philosophical themes, A.I., and, of course, flying cars.
Our contributing 3D artist hit upon an idea of creating his own rendition of Police Spinner that any fan of the iconic sci-fi movie could simply print on a 3D printer (rather futuristic, isn’t it?). The 3D printing Spinner features the car’s trademark silhouette, highly detailed engine and interior compartments, “44” markings and more. The original Blade Runner film was set in 2019 and although we still don’t see cars hovering up and down the road, who knows what the future holds!
ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING
Police Spinner for 3D printing is an active assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 40 hours in total. For your 3D printed futuristic patrol car to boast authentic articulation, our team introduced special mechanisms inside the Spinner and provided means for your Blade Runner craft to be displayed in different scenarios and be fully lit up.
All assembly parts are provided in STL files of FFF/FDM version in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA/SLS 1.0 versions in PDF format. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly video” and "Assembly Manual" before getting down to the Police Spinner model.
The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.
The model's scale was calculated from the length of the PoliceSpinner which is 4820 mm. The 3D printing model's chosen scale is 1:8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS version.
VERSIONS' SPECIFICATIONS
FFF/FDM 1.0 version features:
- Contains 82 parts;
- A printed model is 202 mm tall, 294 mm wide, 604 mm deep;
- Spinner is equipped with rotating rear-view monitors;
- There are rotating gear bearings in all Spinner's wheels;
- Front wheel enclosures go up and turn 90°;
- Pilot's controls rotate as well;
- The car's windshield, side windows, glass elements on front wheel enclosures, headlight, flashing beacons, bottomwindows, bottomlights, etc. are provided separately to be printed with the transparent filament;
- The patrol car boasts highlydetailedinterior;
- You can light up a lot of assembly elements that comprise the 3D printing Spinner. LED wiring can be easily installed throughout the body of the vehicle, while the battery can be hidden under the highly detailedengine;
- There are alternative STL files of Spinner's body (#83 - 90) without logos for you to use decals instead;
- All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.
DLP/SLA 1.0 version features:
- Contains 57 parts;
- A printed model is 101 mm tall, 147 mm wide, 302 mm deep;
- All Spinner's wheels can rotate;
- Front wheel enclosures go up and turn 90°;
- The car's windshield, side windows, glass elements on front wheel enclosures, headlight, bottomwindows, bottomlights, etc. are provided separately to be printed with the transparent material;
- The patrol car boasts highlydetailedinterior;
- You can light up a lot of assembly elements that comprise the 3D printing Spinner. LED wiring can be easily installed throughout the body of the vehicle, while the battery can be hidden under the highly detailedengine;
- All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.

These basic 3D printing settings recommendations for beginners were tested in Bambu Studio 1.9.1. Test models were printed on the Bambu Lab A1, Bambu Lab A1 Mini, Creality Ender 3 S1, Anycubic Kobra 2, and Anycubic Vyper using PLA and PETG filaments.
