ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

Please welcome The Nux Car wonderfully modified hot rod of the brutal world from Mad Max: Fury Road.

The car driven by Nux is a Chevrolet 5 Window Coupe from 1934. Nux's car holds more mods and has "suicide doors" for its occupants. It also looks a bit meaner with the lifted suspension in the back. As for modes, this model is featured with an active leaf spring-like suspension, two sunroof options - open and closed, opening doors, rotating wheels, plus the synchronized turning of the front wheels, the construction of the front wheels’ mechanism, elaborate interior.

Our contributing author did a great job! This war-torn vehicle is super modified and certainly will make its impression on you, so what else do you really need in the desert except for a big engine and a machine gun anyways? Go ahead, and print it on your 3D printer!

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

The Nux Car for 3D printing is an active assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 95 hours in total. For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible and to minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support, the desert monster car was divided into many assembly parts that are provided as separate STL files. And for you to create an impressive piece for display, our team equipped the model with an active suspension and lots of articulated elements that you can interact with.

All assembly parts are provided in STL files of FFF/FDM version in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won’t face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model’s file you will also receive “Assembly Manual” for FFF/FDM 1.0 version in PDF format. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly video” and “Assembly Manual” before getting down to the Nux Car model.

The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model’s scale was calculated from the approximate length of the Nux Car which is 5408 mm. The 3D printing model’s chosen scale is 1:16 for the FFF/FDM version.

VERSIONS' SPECIFICATIONS

FFF/FDM 1.0 version features:
- Contains 128 parts;
- A printed model stands 231 mm tall, 126 mm wide, 338 mm deep;

- The active suspension can be assembled with regular ball pen springs for better shock-absorption or without them;

- Design of the front axle allows synchronized movement of front wheels;

- All wheels of the car rotate;

- Highly-detailed exterior of the car;

- Opening doors;
- Two sun roof options - open and closed;

Below you can find printing recommendations for CuraSimplify3D and Slic3r software.

Cura printing recommendations:

These are basic settings that were tested in Cura 4.8.0 slicer.

The test models were printed on Ultimaker 2, Creality Ender 3, Creality CR-10S Pro V2, Anycubic I3 Mega, Anycubic I3 MegaS 3D printers with PLA and PETG filaments.

Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use and especially the particular assembly part at hand. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

Note:
- You can scale up the model (downscaling is not recommended!);
- All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill;
- For all parts of locks (“ge_lock” in “Source files”) you need to change "Brim" type to "Skirt" in Build Plate Adhesion section.
