Version 1 and Version 2 are the files for Bender 3D Model optimized for 3D printing, the preview pictures of which you see above.

It is recommended:

  • to print Version 1 STL files on FDM/FFF 3D printers;
  • to print Version 2 STL files on DLP/SLA/SLS 3D printers.

Description

HISTORY OF THE BENDER

Bender is one of the main characters of Futurama. It was made in Mexico in 2997 with the serial number 2716057. Bender is a comic anti-hero, foul-mouthed, alcoholic, cigar smoker, kleptomaniac. He is cook however his food is life-threatening. He drinks a lot of alcohol to recharge his fuel cells. When he burps, out of his mouth comes out a fire like a small mechanical dragon. Small because its height is only 168. However, it is made of a very durable alloy that gives it the ability to survive after more than one explosion. In a critical situation, he always panics. Usually, Bender behaves like a complete egoist, but occasionally it awakens sympathy and friendly affection for Fry. Since Fry is his friend and the one who saved him from suicide.

ABOUT THIS 3D PRINTING MINIATURE

Bender 3D miniature for printing was created in ZBrush. The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers

FDM version features:
- Contain 31 parts;
- Made with connectors and locks;
- You can choose between the connectors 25_B_claw (x4) and 25v2_B_claw (x4) depending on the flexibility of your printing material;
- Made with the New Year's cap and with two girlfriends which you can remove;
- Has a version with cigar and cigarette lighter;
- Has an opening door of the squeezer with bottle inside;
- Special hand for holding bottle;
- All parts are divided in such way that you will print them with the smallest amount of supports.

SLS/SLA version features:

- Same as FDM but smaller and made as 7 part in different variants.

All .STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

Note: Before starting 3D printing the model, read the Printing Details for CURA 3.1.0. Software.

There are 31 parts for FFF/FDM version and 7 part for SLS/SLA version.


All parts of connectors should be printed at 100% infill.

Scale: His tall in life is 1800 mm. Model made as 1/8 scale in FDM version and 1/16 in SLS/SLA version.

FDM version dimensions:

After being printed will stand - 232 mm tall, 148 mm wide, 83 mm deep;

- Connectors should be printed at 100% infill to make them solid.

SLS/SLA version dimensions:

After being printed will stand - 116 mm tall, 74 mm wide, 41.5 mm deep;

- Has only 1 detail in each variant, to keep printing costs down.

To avoid printing issues and achieve the best quality, we highly recommend applying the following settings:

Generic

Below you can find printing recommendations for Cura, Bambu Lab, Simplify3D, Slic3r and PrusaSlicer software.

Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use, and especially the particular assembly part you are working with. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review, and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

Note:

You can scale up the model (downscaling for FFF/FDM 3D printers is not recommended!);

All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill.

Bambu Lab printing recommendations:

These basic 3D printing settings recommendations for beginners were tested in Bambu Studio 1.9.5. Test models were printed on the Bambu Lab A1, Bambu Lab A1 Mini, Creality Ender 3 S1, Anycubic Kobra 2, and Anycubic Vyper using PLA and PETG filaments.

These are averaged settings which were tested in the Cura 5.8.1 slicer. Test models were printed on Anycubic Vyper, Creality Ender 3 Pro with PLA filament.
