No one had dared confront the mighty King of Monsters before him - the one and only Anguirus! This legendary kaiju, who later became Godzilla’s loyal ally and closest friend, is a quadrupedal dinosaur, who had remained dormant until he was awakened and irradiated by nuclear bomb tests in the modern era. This spiky fellow is a wild mix of various reptiles such as ankylosaurus, a styracosaurus, and even a crocodile. The tenacious prehistoric warrior, who never backs down in the face of danger and is ready to put up a fight against even the strongest monsters, was embodied in the Anguirus 3D Printing Figurine by one of our talented contributing 3D artists. The author’s boundless love for the Kaiju universe encouraged him to spend circa 200 hours in order to recreate the monster with utmost precision. The Anguirus 3D Printing Figurine boasts an immense level of detail and exquisitely realistic depiction of the creature. The monster is portrayed letting out a fierce roar, while his sharp serrated teeth are bare in a threat. The snout of Anguirus is decorated with a rhino-like horn and head of the kaiju - with a graceful yet dangerous crown of horns. Anguirus for 3D printing has his carapace and the tremendously long tail studded with a plethora of spikes that will come in handy when confronting yet another nemesis. Just like his movie counterpart, the Anguirus 3D Printing Figurine’s hind limbs are almost twice as long as the forelimbs and allow him to launch attacks and leap at incredible speed. In order to make the model even more dynamic, the author depicted Anguirus with one of the clawed feet ready to strike. Anguirus is a static assembly figurine and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 52 hours in total. The huge figurine in its assembly version was divided into as many assembly parts as needed to fit even the smallest 3D printers' build plates and for you to nevertheless receive a giant 3D printed kaiju after assembly. The cutting of Anguirus figurine was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the model’s parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the model’s Eco version. For you to achieve the cleanest 3D printed result, kaiju’s feet, long spiky tail, carapace, etc. are provided as separate assembly pieces. For the same purpose, the monster’s tongue and upper jaw were extracted from the mouth and are now provided as two separate parts. A lot of bigger spikes on Anguirus’ tail and the horns on the head have also been separated. The model’s rocky platform was divided into four parts to fit the build plates of the average 3D printers. All assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any figurine's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA 1.0 versions in PDF format.

The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Anguirus' length that is 160000 mm. The 3D printing figurine's chosen scale is 1/250 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/500 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.


FFF/FDM 1.0 version features:
- Contains 53 parts;
- A printed model is 245 mm tall, 311 mm wide, 560 mm deep;
- The assembly kit includes lock 53_ge_lock_10H(x33) to connect the model's parts securely without glue that needs to be printed 33 times;
- All parts are divided in such a way that you will print them with the smallest number of support structures.

DLP/SLA 1.0 version features:
- Contains 13 parts;
- A printed model is 124 mm tall, 157 mm wide, 280 mm deep;
- All parts are divided in such a way to fit the build plates and to ensure that support structures are generated where needed.

DLP/SLA Eco 1.0 version features:
- Contains 13 parts;
- A printed model is 124 mm tall, 157 mm wide, 280 mm deep;
- Contains some hollowed out parts to save resin.

SLS 1.0 version features:
- Made as solid one-piece figurine;
- A printed model is 124 mm tall, 157 mm wide, 280 mm deep;
- Contains 2 parts - a one-piece Anguirus with the platform separated.

These are basic settings that were tested in Cura 4.8.0 slicer. 

The test models were printed on Ultimaker 2, Creality Ender 3, Creality CR-10S Pro V2, Anycubic I3 Mega, Anycubic I3 MegaS 3D printers with PLA and PETG filaments.

Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use and especially the particular assembly part at hand. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

- You can scale up the model (downscaling is not recommended!);
