ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

IG-11 assassin-type droid is a too-innocent-for-its-kind robot who appeared in the Star Wars television series The Mandalorian. Masculine-programmed bounty hunter of the IG-series product line is often mistaken with the deadly and feared IG-88 or Phlutdroid. In reality, the assassin droid who is expected to be skilled in security and military functions is more of a “child with a gun” who is seen spinning on its own torso as it rapidly fires blaster bolts in the midst of a gunfight. The author of the IG-11 Droid 3D printing model mentioned that he was very excited for the live-action The Mandalorian and actually start pondering over the possible 3D printing project since the moment the show’s writer Jon Favreau first shared the photo of the future franchise character. The 3D artist spent 88 hours in total to create an IG-11 model for 3D printing that would not only be a nice addition to one’s Star Wars figurines collection but also will become an incredible action figure once printed! Therefore, the 3D printing plated battle droid was developed with meticulous attention to the very finest details making sure to depict the IG-series trademark hideous appearance with its sensors and acid-proof servo wires carrying an arsenal of weapons. As described by Taika Waititi, the actor who voiced IG-11, this robot “doesn't know about sarcasm and doesn't know how to lie”. So now not only the awesome-looking but also extremely nice The Mandalorian plot-line representative can be displayed on your shelf - just print it on your 3D printer.

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

IG-11 Droid model for 3D printing is a highly articulated assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 35 hours in total. In order to ensure the robot’s multidirectional movement, it was divided into many assembly parts and special mechanisms were introduced into all model’s joints to give you an opportunity to display IG-11 Droid in a variety of positions, i.e. robot’s head, shoulders, elbows, hands, knees, feet etc. are movable. Acid-proof Servo Wires that are to be inserted into droid’s legs also come separately and it is recommended to print them with flexible filament to preserve legs’ articulation. Moreover, for you to receive the cleanest printed result, both Pulse cannon and blaster rifle that robot is displayed holding are also provided as several separate files. All assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and so that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. We also highly recommend that you watch "Assembly video" in the photo preview section before assembling the droid.

The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from IG-11 Droid's actual height that is 1960 mm. The 3D printing model's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.
