Description

Kodiak Mech 3D model is inspired by the MechWarrior Online Universe’s Mech with the same name. The 3D model reproduces all the prototype’s looks and hides special surprises for those who are big fans of this bipedal vehicle.

The in-game Mech is an assault vehicle, capable of developing a speed of up to 64.8km/h. Its armor provides seventeen tons of protection. The Mech model is also known for its impressive firepower, which very often causes overheat when the wide range of weapons are fired simultaneously. However, the claws that he has on his arms are for aesthetic purpose only.

Kodiak 3D model features short-range weaponry, such as Series II Ultra AC/20 and Streak SRM-6s. There are also medium lasers and large lasers that are displayed above his hands and above the engine.

You will see that Kodiak 3D model features this regular arsenal.

This impressive bipedal vehicle’s STL files are produced in Autodesk Maya modeling software. The files are checked and corrected in Netfabb and are flawless.

The model consists of 45 parts, all optimized to be printed on any type of 3D printer. You can handle easily the Kodiak 3D model STL files in any slicing program, such as CURA 15.06 or Simplify3D.

Note: For those who use Simplify3D software, read these GUIDELINES prior to starting printing the 3D model.

After being printed and assembled, the Mech Warrior Kodiak 3D model will stand 250mm tall, 214mm wide, and 147mm deep. The 3D model will feature rotating torso and workable hands and legs.

Buy Kodiak 3D model STL files by clicking the green Buy button. Go to checkout and insert the PayPal or credit card details. Download a Mech Warrior 3D model that will complement your collection of Mechs.

On 19.12.2016 the model files have been optimized and made solid. They now are adapted to be 3D printed using any slicing program. 3D model files are already available for purchase and download.

________________________

On 20.03.2018 new scale and new version of joints have been added.

Now, the MWO Kodiak 3D Model is available in two scale: 1/60 for Version 2 (FDM/FFF) and 1/100 for Version 3 (DLP/SLA/SLS).

There are 23 parts in Version 2 (FDM/FFF) and 8 parts for Version 3 (DLP/SLA/SLS).

Was added parts pf Locks and Connectors for better fixing. One part of Lock(14_Ge_lock_10H_x8) you need to print 8 times. One part of Connector(11_GE_Connector_B_C_x5) you need to print 5 times.

Version 2 (FDM/FFF):
- Is 1:60 scale and after being printed will stand 300 mm tall, 266 mm wide, 183 mm deep;
- Made with new joints;
- All movable elements of the Mech were saved.

Version 3 (DLP/SLA/SLS):
- Is 1:100 scale and will stand 180 mm tall, 160 mm wide, 110 mm deep;
- Made with new joints;
- All movable elements of the Mech were saved;
- Has as few details as possible to keep printing costs down.

With new joints from Version 2 and Version 3 you will get next advantages:
1. Increases frictional force;
2. Possible to up scale or down scale the whole model;
3. Printable from any type of material;
4. Higher strength;
5. Material shrinkage does not affect at strength and friction.

STL files with new scale and new joints are already available for download in “Source files” tab for:
- Version 2 - STL files on FDM/FFF 3D printers;
- Version 3 - STL files on DLP/SLA/SLS 3D printers.

Note:

- You can print new joints from Version 2 and Version 3 with 20-30% infill.
- With the new joints from Version 2 and Version 3 you can up scale or down scale the whole model.

- Connectors should be printed at 100% infill.

- For all parts of Locks you need to change "Brim" type to "Skirt" in Build Plate Adhesion section.
