ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL

Tyrannosaurus rex is considered to be one of the most aggressive predators to ever inhabit the Earth. The massive body of the creature, its large massive legs, strong tail, and sharp teeth make it especially dangerous, and, considering the exceptional height of the dinosaur (4 to 5 meters), its prey has no chance of surviving after meeting the monster. It’s no wonder that Tyrannosaurus rex is known as the most famous dinosaur of all time, it is frequently represented in movies and on television, in literature, and in numerous video games.

Inspired by the iconic prehistoric character, our talented 3D artist created their version of T-Rex paying special attention to the proportions of the figurine and intending to repeat the appearance of the dinosaur as closely as possible. The first thing that catches the eye is the snout of T-Rex: it has numerous ridges and depressions, narrow horns grow on both sides of the nose giving the dinosaur a formidable look. The rows of razor-shape teeth in the huge mouth and tiny muscular arms with claws serve as an additional weapon for T-Rex. Another distinctive feature of the creature is its scaly, pebbly skin with rounded scales covering the body, similar to the scales of the crocodiles. Tyrannosaurus Rex undoubtedly has it all to make the process of printing and assembly as exciting as possible, believe us!

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Tyrannosaurus Rex for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 58 hours in total. The figurines' anatomy and proportions were thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the dinosaur to be depicted harmoniously in the intended pose.

The figurine’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the Eco version. In order to conceal the places where the assembly parts of the figurine are connected, Tyrannosaurus was divided into convenient assembly parts.

All assembly parts in the FFF/FDM 1.0 version are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model's file you will also receive "Assembly Manual" for FFF/FDM 1.0 and DLP/SLA 1.0 versions in PDF format. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the “Assembly Video” and "Assembly Manual" before getting down to Tyrannosaurus Rex.

The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The figurine’s scale was calculated from the height of Tyrannosaurus Rex. The 3D printing figurine’s chosen scales are 1:16 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:32 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.
