Printing Details

This 3D model consists of files in StereoLithography (.Stl) format that have been optimized for 3D printing.

Before printing the files, we strongly recommend reading the PRINTING DETAILS section.

Version 1 and Version 2 are the files for Optimus Prime G1 3D Model optimized for 3D printing, the preview pictures of which you see above.

It is recommended:

  • to print Version 1 STL files on FDM/FFF 3D printers;
  • to print Version 2 STL files on DLP/SLA/SLS 3D printers.

Before the Great War Optimus Prime was known as Orion Pax. His character was quite consistent with this name. His good nature caused the disaster, he trusted Megatron and showed him the powerhouse of the Autobots. Megatron with his militancy treacherously captured him. Orion, his friend Dion, and beloved Ariel were seriously injured and would have died if they had not been rescued by aerobot those arrive from the future. They brought Orion to the workshop of Alfa Trion and he reconstructed Orion in Optimus Prime. So the new leader of the Autobots was born who led their struggle against the Decepticons. During the centuries-old war, Cybertron's energy resources were exhausted to the limit. Optimus put a team together of the most experienced and dedicated fighters-Autobots and went with them on a journey around the universe in search of new sources of energy. However, during the flight they were overtaken by the Decepticons and took the Ark for boarding. The battle began as a result of which the Ark lost control and collapsed to Earth. Optimus Prime and his entire team as well as all the Decepticons who were on board at this time were deactivated and stayed in stasis for 4 million years.

The model is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers

FDM version features:

- Contain 17 parts. One part of Lock (1_Ge_lock_7S (x26)) you need to print 26 times. One part of Connector (11_GE_Connector_B_B (x2)) you need to print twice;

- Made with locks and connectors;

- Made with platform;

- Made with opening source of power;

- All parts are divided in such way that you will print them with the smallest amount of supports.

SLS/SLA version features:

- Same as FDM but smaller and made in 2 variants.

All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

Note: Before starting 3D printing the model, read the Printing Details for CURA 3.1.0. Software.

There are 17 parts for FFF/FDM version and 2 parts for SLS/SLA version.

Scale: His tall in life is 9144 mm. Model made as 1/30 scale in FDM version and 1/60 in SLS/SLA version.

FDM version dimensions:

After being printed will stand - 326 mm tall, 316 mm wide, 216 mm deep;

SLS/SLA version dimensions:

After being printed will stand - 163 mm tall, 158 mm wide, 108 mm deep;

- Has only 1 detail in each variant, to keep printing costs down.

- STL files of Optimus Prime for 3D printing which consist of 19 parts;
