    Description

    ABOUT THIS 3D FIGURINE

    Princess Leia Organa was one of the Rebel Alliance’s most fearless leaders, an accomplished Senator and a great Jedi Knight of the New Jedi Order. Known as an unshakable leader during the Galactic Civil War and other subsequent galactic conflicts, Leia Organa Solo is considered to be one of the main heroes of the galaxy and, consequently, a well-loved character among George Lucas’ universe fans. The princess of Alderaan is depicted in her iconic "metal bikini" slave outfit from Return of the Jedi. The author of the figurine for 3D printing made sure to include all fine details that make the character’s image so popular among epic space franchise fans as well as cosplayers all over the world. 3D printing Leia is wearing a patterned brassiere coupled with a loincloth and her hair is styled in a braided ponytail that cascades over her right shoulder. In the left hand, Leia Organa is shown holding Selonian glaive. Besides, judging from 3D printing Leia’s outfit one can clearly tell that 3D artist was drawing inspiration from specific film scenes where princess became Jabba the Hutt’s slave. Therefore, the model for 3D printing is made standing on the platform that was designed so to resemble the lookout of Khetanna sail barge. Princess Leia Organa is an extremely brave and adventurous heroine and is also such a popular franchise character that your Star Wars collection won’t do without a 3D printed Leia figurine!

    ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING (FFF/FDM 2.0, DLP/SLA 1.0, DLP/SLA Eco 1.0, SLS 2.0)

    Princess Leia figurine for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its updating and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 58 hours in total. Upon one of our customer's request, Gambody team got down to the preparation of the platform for the Leia figurine and in the course of the work the decision was reached to upgrade the model as a whole. So for all the Star Wars fans to print the cleanest figurine possible the model was cut into assembly parts anew and adapted for different types of 3D printers taking into account the present-day technology advancements. Princess Leia’s anatomy, facial features and body proportions were thoroughly reviewed during the moderation process for the Organa to be depicted harmoniously in the intended pose. The model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you in the model’s Eco version to save resin. In order to ensure the smooth 3D printed result, Leia’s knee-high boots, braided ponytail, Selonian glaive as well as the parts of the Khetanna sail barge-like platform are now provided as separate STL files. All the assembly parts are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out so to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate.

    The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

    The model's scale was calculated from Princess Leia's actual height that is 1500 mm. The 3D printing figurine's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.

    Printing Details
    Important

    To avoid printing issues and achieve the best quality, we highly recommend applying the following settings:

    Generic

    Below you can find printing recommendations for CuraSimplify3D and Slic3r software.

    Cura printing recommendations:

    These are basic settings that were tested in Cura 4.8.0 slicer.

    The test models were printed on Ultimaker 2, Creality Ender 3, Creality CR-10S Pro V2, Anycubic I3 Mega, Anycubic I3 MegaS 3D printers with PLA and PETG filaments.

    Disclaimer: The following printing settings are a recommendation, not an obligation. The parameters can vary depending on the peculiarities of your 3D printer, the material you use and especially the particular assembly part at hand. Each part that any model comprises often needs preliminary review and you are free to tweak the settings the way you find suitable.

    Note:
    - You can scale up the model (downscaling is not recommended!);
    - All connectors should be printed at 100% Infill;
    - For all parts of locks (“ge_lock” in “Source files”) you need to change "Brim" type to "Skirt" in Build Plate Adhesionsection.
