ABOUT THIS 3D FIGURINE

Rick Sanchez, the co-eponymous protagonist of ”Rick and Morty” animated series, happens to be an embodiment of a totally irresponsible and crazy yet ingenious scientist. Constantly dragging his grandson Morty into interdimensional and universal adventures, he lets us dive into the world of heavy science fiction. From episode to episode he demonstrates that any form of life has no meaningful value and any crime may be committed for the sake of a scientific breakthrough, or simply fun. As the fans of the sci-fi sitcom might have already guessed, the author of Rick figurine for 3D printing was particularly inspired by "Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind" episode of the show, the one to feature "Evil Rick Sanchez" for the first time. The 3D printing figurine is depicted as if Rick has just popped out of the portal. But here’s a trick - the existence of the character’s evil counterparts resulted in 3D artist’s decision to prepare two variants of the scientist and it is up to you to decide which one to recreate! The “kind” variant of the inventor’s face can be replaced with the battle damaged one with the scar going across the lips. What is more, your 3D printed Rick can be showcased holding either Portal Gun or tranquillizer. The author of the model spent 95 hours to reveal the remarkably talented inventor for 3D printing. Rick knows how to escape any planet or unfavourable dimension but at the same time, his lousy nature doesn’t seize to expose himself and his family into the possibility of potential death. His grandson Morty, who completes the 3D printing diorama is the obvious case!

ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING

Rick figurine for 3D printing is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took Gambody team 26 hours in total. The model’s cutting was chosen by our team to minimise the amount of filament needed for generated support and some of the parts were hollowed out for you to save resin in the model’s Eco version. Moreover, in order to conceal the places where assembly parts of the model must be connected, the figurine was cut along the contour of Rick’s clothes’ seams and the lab coat was “taken off” the figurine to ensure nice printing result. Such small elements as Rick’s interchangeable Portal Gun and tranquillizer, boots, spiky hair, hands etc. are provided as separate parts for you to receive the cleanest result possible. All assembly parts come in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and so that the 3D printing beginners won't face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate.

The figurine is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.

The model's scale was calculated from Rick's actual height that is 1940 mm. The 3D printing figurine's chosen scale is 1/8 for the FFF/FDM version and 1/16 for the DLP/SLA/SLS versions.
