ABOUT THIS 3D MODEL
A vital component of exploration and diplomacy in the Star Trek universe, the Type 6 Shuttlecraft served as the workhorse of Starfleet during the Star Trek: The Next Generation era. Capable of short warp jumps, this versatile spacecraft was essential for transporting personnel, delivering supplies, and executing critical away missions from starships like the iconic USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D. Known for its reliability and practical design, the Federation Shuttlecraft was a familiar sight launching from the Enterprise's shuttle bay, playing a crucial role in countless encounters and explorations throughout the galaxy. It represents the unsung hero of short-range interstellar travel for Star Trek.
Now you can bring this essential part of the Star Trek experience to your display with the Star Trek Type 6 Shuttlecraft 3D model. Our contributing artist has created this spacecraft 3D model, capturing its distinctive shape and functionality. The model features an opening rear door providing access to the interior, adding a layer of realism and display potential. For added immersion, it includes integrated tunnels for LED lighting, allowing you to illuminate the engines, cockpit instrument panel, and the cockpit itself. Choose how you want to display your Type 6 Shuttlecraft with four types of hull: a clean version or variants featuring Goddard, Justman, or Magelan lettering. This versatile Star Trek STL files set is a perfect addition for fans of Star Trek TNG 3D models and sci-fi 3D prints.
ADAPTATION FOR 3D PRINTING
Type-6 Shuttlecraft 3D printing design is a static assembly model and its moderation and adaptation for different types of 3D printers took the Gambody team 84 hours in total.
For you to receive the cleanest 3D printing result possible, minimize the amount of filament needed for generated support, and make use of the active elements designed by Gambody Engineers, the vehicle was divided into convenient assembly parts.
All assembly parts in the 1.0 FFF/FDM version are provided in STL files in recommended positions that were worked out in order to ensure the smoothness of the details’ surfaces after printing and that the 3D printing beginners won’t face difficulties when placing the parts on a build plate. When downloading any model’s file you will also receive “Assembly Manual” for 1.0 FFF/FDM and 1.0 DLP/SLA versions in PDF and video formats. We highly recommend that you get acquainted with the "Assembly Video" and “Assembly Manual” before getting down to the Type-6 Shuttlecraft.
The design is saved in STL files, a format supported by most 3D printers. All STL files for 3D printing have been checked in Netfabb and no errors were shown.
The 3D model’s scale was calculated from the length of the Type-6 Shuttlecraft. The 3D printer design’s chosen scales are 1:16 for the FFF/FDM version and 1:32 for the DLP/SLA version.
